Introducing Gregory Pataca

Some changes have been underway lately in OG. Some of the most significant ones is the changing of two of our members. Roël Calister has given up his spot behind the drums, a position he had filled nicely for us over the past few years. We have had some great shows together and he did a brilliant job in the studio, especially on Fingerprint! However, it had become clear that he had too little time on his hands for being in a band like Orange Grove. He is taking on a lot in his professional career with a number of his own projects and he is doing quite well. We wish him all the best and hope to continue a friendly relationship.

Stepping in to replace him: Gregory Pataca. He filled in for Roël for our last tour to the Caribbean at the end last year. We were so happy with how he fit the group, that after getting back to Holland we immediately asked him. Besides being a tight rock-solid drummer we can lean on, he's also a very chill cat who is easy to roll with, plus he brings a heap of experience along, having played with many top bands in Holland. He was born on Curacao and has roots in Surinam so he's a true Caribbean man from the heart and finally somebody in OG with dreadlocks! haha! ok Quincell..i know you are trying..but those aint DREADlocks yet...they're still just locks.

We look forward to great times with Greg. About the other member who will be changing...Bruce has decided to move back to Aruba in order to be closer to his son. In the next blog we will get into that...

Greg is a Yamaha Certified drummer, which means he is sponsored by Yamaha. He also drums currently for 'A Tribute to Bob Marley' as well as 'Maikal X'.
