Going to Sint Maarten!

This is Orange Grove's very first blog. I'll probably be the one doing the majority of the blogging, though I'm sure everybody in the band will eventually want to leave some thoughts behind here. Let me introduce myself, my name's Michael and I'm the lead singer of Orange Grove. We'll be using this blog as a way of sharing some of our thoughts with you.

At the moment we are preparing for our trip to the Caribbean. In only 3 days we'll be on Sint Maarten again! Back to where I was born and raised. Back home to my family. Back at the Heineken regatta with OG for the fourth time already! We've all really been looking forward to this! All of us have. Because this time it's different. We all feel we've come a long way since the last time we took the stage at Kim Sha two years ago. Also this time we'll be complete! Last time (2007) when we opened for Stephen and Damian Marley we didn't have our girls with us. This time we'll have all seven spots on the roster filled and we'll be at full stregth when we open for the legendary Wailers!! Wait...what?? We are opening for the Wailers?! Are you kidding me? Thank you Heineken. Seriously...there's not another band out there I'd feel more honoured to open for. Hopefully I'll get the chance to shake Family Man's hand backstage...

So on Thursday we'll be boarding a jet plane with the eight of us (we're bringing our sound-guy Oscar as well) to SXM! Yes yes we are really looking forward to it! I must admit..it's fun being in Orange Grove.

There's so much about this trip I want to mention here but instead of talking about it all first I'd rather just update you as it happens. So on SXM I'll be writing a little in here whenever I get the chance to. So til the next one from the Friendly Island...Cool runnings, Michael
